NBA: Dirk Nowitzki Agrees to Two-Year, $40 Million Deal to Stay With Mavericks

Thanks to 2011, Dirk Nowitzki never had to pack up and go ring-chasing with his increasing age.  Instead Nowitzki is satisfied with the one ring he won and remains loyal to the Dallas Mavericks.  Though he has made $200 million in his storied career, he’s actually left a lot more on the table, all to benefit the Mavericks, the only team he’s known and loved.  Some expected Dirk to finally pack up and leave, to a championship contender and to get his just due, but alas he remains committed to Dallas.

The Dallas Mavericks beat the Los Angeles Lakers 92-90 on Tuesday night thanks to a game winner from Dirk Nowitzki.  Kobe Bryant did not play (resting his shoulder) but he did have a front row seat to Nowitzki’s game winner and even gave Dirk the sportsman’s pat on the butt signaling a good job.

You gotta love Dirk Nowitzki.  He and the Dallas Mavericks beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 93-87 on Monday night.  Nowitzki led all scorers with 29 points, but the Mavs were once again aided by the contributions of offseason pickup of Zaza Pachulia, who finished with a double-double (13 points, 11 rebounds) in 32 minutes as the starting center.
