Well this took longer than expected but the NFL has finally ruled on IK Enemkpali and the punch that broke Geno Smith’s jaw. As you recall the former teammates had a dispute about money that Geno owed and it led to Enemkpali just knocking Geno out, requiring him to get surgery to fix his jaw. The Jets immediately cut him and then Rex Ryan and the Bills swooped in to sign him. They eventually also cut him so his four game suspension wouldn’t actually start until a team signs him. All of this was over $600 bucks!

Teams well at least the offensive line, usually go really hard to protect the quarterback at all times, even off the field.  Well no one came to the aid of New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith as he got punched and suffered a broken jaw at the hands of now former teammate IK Enemkpali.  In a public statement the Jets said Smith got sucker punched but coach Todd Bowles also said the incident was “childish”.  The account from anonymous sources seem to back that but also contend that Smith “deserved” what he got.

Michael Vick and Geno Smith were once teammates on the New York Jets.  Though Vick was brought in as more like a mentor to the young Smith, the two were vying for the same starting quarterback position.  Vick has since departed but still tried to send out some advice to young Geno after he got his jaw broken in a locker room fight today.
