Hip Hop veteran Nas and Georgetown Sociology Professor Micheal Eric Dyson, took to the Lehigh University, alongside James Peterson, director of Africana studies, to discuss the current state of hip hop. The trio sat in front of a packed crowd, as 9th Wonder hosted, and spoke on a series of topics: from the latest increase of combining academics and hip hop, to its overall evolution. Nas stated on the issue of balancing conscious messages without coming off as a lecturer by saying “I Don’t See Enough Emcees Who Are Brave Enough To Be Honest”. Looks like Jordan Brand, will be releasing it’s first pack in a minute. This release, which focuses on the heavy rivalry between the UNC Tar Heels and Georgetown Hoyas in the 1980s, features the Air Jordan 1 Retro KO silhouette in team-inspired colorways. Release info and pricing hasn’t been confirmed yet, but some European retails are reporting a March 15th release date, and expect a retail tag of at least $250. March Madness: Goliath Goes Down!! #2 Georgetown Loses In A Shocker To #15 FGCU
Ok, so you are going to hear this phrase alot lately if the 2013 NCAA tournament keeps going the way it has been. The phrase is “One of the biggest upsets ever”! Case in point, last night Harvard won it’s first game ever in the tournament when the #14 seeded Harvard Crimson beat #3 seeded New Mexico. That was one of the biggest upsets ever simply because of the history of the 2 schools when it comes to basketball and the difference in how good the 2 teams were this season.
