Last night, the greatest closer in the history of baseball stood on the mound in Yankee Stadium and waved good bye to the home crowd for the last time in his career. Mariano Rivera, who has been the most reliable member of the Yankees for almost 20 years, was taken out of the game with one out left in a loss to the Tampa Rays, so the crowd could give him the ovation he deserved in the last time fans in New York will see him pitch in person. Instead of the usual manager coming to take him out of the game, the other longtime Yankees, Derek Jeter and Andy Pettitte came to relieve him and that is when Rivera got very emotional. Straight cash homie! Most of the NFL stories this week are based around the players at the Super Bowl and if you know Randy Moss, he’s got something to say. While talking to the media today he named the greatest WR to play the game. You should be able to guess who he said *ahem ahem* While I agree he is ONE of the greatest, I don’t know if I can say he is THE greatest. Jerry Rice is one of the firsts that come to my mind. IFWT Remembers Big Pun On His Birthday
Today would have been Christopher “Big Pun” Rios’ 41st birthday. The Bronx rapper died tragically of a heart attack on February 7, 2000 leaving life and the rap game way to early. Today on his birthday we remember his life and music as one of the greatest to ever do it! Happy Birthday, Pun, we miss you! RIP! Julie A. & The IFWT team
