Scholastic Corporation and L’union Suite also pitched in to add to the holiday joy! During the Live Civil Christmas Giveaway, each child was gifted an outfit from Trukfit, as well as a Live Civil Thinking Cap from Karen’s partnership with New Era. Haitian-American professional boxer Andre Berto even surprised the kids by dressing up as Santa Claus and passing out toys, and Scholastic donated a book to each of the 500 children, while Karen did a live reading of her new book, Be You & Live Civil. This all went down at the Live Civil playground, something Karen has been working hard at building in Haiti since her 30th birthday in 2014.
