NFL: #1 Pick Jadeveon Clowney Signs $22 Million Dollar Contract With Houston Texans

The Houston Texans made it official today with their number one pick in the NFL Draft. Clowney signed a contract worth a guaranteed $22.22 million dollars with $14.5 million of that already given to him in a signing bonus. The removes any doubt that Clowney would have to hold out during summer practices while his contract was worked out. The 6-foot-5, 266-pound defensive end left high school as the No. 1-ranked player and shattered a South Carolina record for sacks, notching 13 in 2012. His 24 sacks in three seasons rank third all-time for the school, and he left college ranked fifth in forced fumbles and tackles for loss among active big college players.

(PHOTO) NFL: Duped Fan Gets To Meet The Real Arian Foster

Remember earlier this month when a woman posted up a picture with Arian Foster — except it wasn’t Arian Foster — and he broke the news to her on Twitter?!  Well he did something special for that fan — what a nice thing to do.  Check it out…

NFL: Report, Houston Texans Trade QB Matt Schaub To Oakland Raiders

This trade makes sense for everyone involved. The Raiders need help at quarterback and Matt Schaub has worn out his welcome in Houston. After starting last season 2-0, the Texans proceeded to lose 14 straight games and Schaub looked terrible that entire time. There was no way fans would accept him as their starting quarterback next season again. Crazy thing is prior to last season his numbers were pretty good and so were the Texans. The Raiders only have to give up a late round draft pick and now they will hopefully get some help to run their offense. But based on last season there is no guarantee that Schaub will work out with Oakland either.

NFL: Several Teams Interested in Texans Quarterback Matt Schaub

Considering the year he had with the Houston Texans it’s a wonder any team much less multiple are interested in quarterback Matt Schaub.  But he did have previous successful seasons and there are several teams desperately in need of a quarterback.

NFL: Did Johnny Manziel Threaten The Houston Texans?

Did Johnny football just talk himself out of being the #1 pick in the NFL draft? Or is he just being confident? The Houston Texans have the first pick, and since Manziel played his college ball in the same state, he really, really wants to play quarterback in Houston. I am not sure though, that telling a team they will regret it if they don’t pick you is such a good idea. You gotta love this kid though. Hit the jump to see what he said.

NFL: Texans Reportedly Interested in Jon Gruden & Mike Shanahan For Head Coach Position

As expected the Houston Texans fired head coach Gary Kubiak.  The team lost 11 games in a row and fell way below expectations as many predicted a great season for them.  Wade Phillips has been named the interim coach until the team finds a replacement.  An ESPN report has been released with names of possible candidates and a couple names on there are pretty interesting.
