Jay 305 Signs To Interscope Records

Congrats are in order for Jay 305, who has just inked a record deal with Interscope Records. The West Coast rapper started building a buzz last year thanks to his affiliation with Dom Kennedy’s Other People’s Money label, and caught the attention of execs like Interscope exec Joie Manda, who I noticed tweeted about Jay last week. “He’s got a different perspective,” Interscope publicist Ray Alba said in a statement. “He’s older and wiser than a lot of young cats and been through some sh*t. His perspective and his story is going to be what’s refreshing in West Coast hip-hop.” The west is on fire right now, and hopefully Jay will only add more fuel to it. Congrats again! (Although per our previous Twitter convo, I still think your rap name sounds like an AIM screenname, LOL!)
