The Los Angeles Lakers head honcho Jeanie Buss came out swinging against her brothers in new court docs after their attempted coup.  Jeanie claims Jim Buss was a failure in his role with the team and Magic Johnson must undo the “damage” he caused.

Two years ago, governor and owner, Jeanie Buss declared that co-owner Jim Buss would have to step down as president of basketball operations if the Los Angeles Lakers weren’t contenders by now.  Three years ago, Jim himself said he would step down if the Lakers weren’t contenders by now or by next year.  Tuesday, Jeanie didn’t wait for Jim to re-sign, she fired her brother and hired Magic Johnson as the new president of basketball operations.  She also fired the Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak and hired Kobe Bryant’s agent, Rob Pelinka.  Jeanie also apologized to the fanbase for waiting so long to pull the trigger.

Los Angeles Lakers Governor Jeanie Buss announced today that the team has named Earvin “Magic” Johnson as President of Basketball Operations. In addition, General Manager Mitch Kupchak has been relieved of his duties, effective immediately. Furthermore, Jim Buss will no longer hold his role as Lakers Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations.

Another one bites the dust in this dreadful year that is 2016.  After a four-year long engagement, Phil Jackson and Jeanie Buss have called it off.

The Los Angeles Lakers infamous coaching decision is still one that has people scratching their heads.  Rather than re-hiring legendary coach Phil Jackson, they decided to go with Mike D’Antoni.  Jim Buss has long maintained that it was a decision made by his father Jerry Buss from his hospital bed.  Jerry reportedly wanted a return to the uptempo Showtime Lakers and Jim wanted to make his first big decision for the team.  It might have been more than that though, according to Jeanie Buss the Lakers chose to build around Steve Nash not Dwight Howard.

After a disappointing season last year the Lakers were expected to make a splash in the offseason with the cream of the crop becoming free agents.  Well that didn’t happen and many suspected it was because no one wanted to play with Kobe Bryant.  In fact ESPN wrote a lengthy article blaming Bryant for the Lakers downfall and using anonymous sources to confirm that several high profile players did not want to play with Kobe including Paul George, Dwight Howard and Andrew Bynum.  Jeanie Buss had strong words for anyone that statement might be true about.
