Def Jams Records President, Joie Manda Calls It Quits To Move On Over To Interscope Records

The man behind the signing of Trinidad James is president no more. Well, at least not at Def Jam Records. Joie Manda has resigned today and let out a statement that fills us in a little bit on his plans. “I am truly grateful to Barry [Weiss], John [Janick] and Jimmy Iovine for this exciting new opportunity,” Manda said. That new opportunity being the new president of urban music for Interscope Records. While in this position, Manda will work with artists like Kendrick Lamar, French Montana and Eminem. Even the behind the artist guys have to make moves. CONGRATULATIONS, Joie! Drop down bottom for more of his statement.

(Photos) Beats By Dre Launches “Beats Pill” Portable Speaker; Hold #ShowYourColor Event In Times Square

Ah, just what the doctor prescribed! Since parting ways with their Monster manufacturer earlier this year, the guys over at Beats By Dre launched their first post-Monster products yesterday in Manhattan, and it looks like they’ll be doing just fine without them. Beginning over at their Soho store (which will celebrate a year on November 2nd thanks to its success, originally supposed to be only a 3-month pop-up shop!), Beats’ head honchos Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine announced three new products, the portable “Beats Pill” speaker (I see what you did there, Dre), Beats Executive headphones and urBeats earbuds that promise not to slip out of your ear. Beats then made their way to Times Square, where they held arguably the best campaign I’ve seen from a company in quite some time! Putting a photo booth smack dab in the center of all the action, people were able to check out the Solo HD headphones in their recently-launched candy color-scheme, take a photo with them on, add their own word to it and see their face on THREE billboards in Times Square! How cool is that! Mine is above, and it’s tremendez. In the gallery, check out photos from the press conference along with the new products. Marisa Mendez

MGK Goes Off On His Label Head Jimmy Iovine, Producer Alex Da Kid Over His Track “Invincible”

Machine Gun Kelly’s track “Invincible” featuring Esther Dean and produced by Alex Da Kid is doing fairly well on radio and even got picked up for a Verizon commercial. That doesn’t mean he likes it, though. In fact, he loathes everything about it and is not pleased with his label’s bossman Jimmy Iovine for “tricking” him into doing the “cookie-cutter” song. See what he really thinks about the track below. Marisa Mendez

(Photo) Dr. Dre Shows Off New @BeatsByDre Headphones, Out This Holiday Season (Details on the New Headphones)

Last night at a press conference in NYC, Dr. Dre and Interscope chairman Jimmy Iovine revealed the newest additions to the wildly popular Beats By Dre headphones collection. Not only did they show off the new Wireless Bluetooth Solo’s, but they also announced we’ll finally be getting some color! There will be 6 new colors added to the Beats (which currently only come in white and black…and I MAY have seen red), and they include silver, pink, green, orange, blue and my favorite color of all: purple! All of these will be hitting stores very soon….like, a few days kind of soon! You can pick the new Beats up October 16th at your local BBD retailer but make sure you come with some dinero…these guys aren’t cheap! Check out what the wireless Beats and an orange pair look like below. Marisa Mendez x Tat Wza
