Last season the Golden State Warriors finished with a 73-9 record, beating the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls (72-10) for best NBA record. Unlike the Bulls, however, the Warriors didn’t win the NBA championship, instead, they lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers who staged an epic comeback after infamously being down 3-1. Warriors owner Joe Lacob says Michael Jordan, who is the current owner of the Charlotte Hornets and a member of that 96′ Bulls team, isn’t impressed with the Warriors new record. Lacob says Jordan relayed his thoughts when they had dinner in New York with other team owners during the collective bargaining agreement negotiations.

The Golden State Warriors were already considered a powerhouse team after winning an NBA championship and going an unprecedented 73-9 the next season, then they did something incredible, they signed Kevin Durant. The former Oklahoma City Thunder star was the catch of the offseason and had many people already declaring the Warriors the next NBA champions.
