NBA: Draymond Green Says Julius Randle ‘Has the Potential to be Better’ Than Him

Julius Randle and Draymond Green have a special relationship despite playing on two different teams in the same state.  Randle acknowledged “there’s a little more juice when I compete against him” because of a relationship he described as both a “friendly rivalry and mentorship.”  Green gave Randle some very high praise and even noted that he could be better than himself one day.

Back in the day Ron Artest as a coach would sound ludicrous, but he’s no longer that person.  He now goes by Metta World Peace, that latter of which he hopes to share as well as plenty of other tips to young players.  MWP made the Lakers’ roster because talented second-year man (basically a rookie after his injury) Julius Randle bonded with him as a mentor. World Peace is a former All-Star and Defensive Player of the Year who has tips he can pass along to young players, and he may get through to them in a way old coaches do not.

Despite all he knows about how Kobe Bryant treats rookies, Julius Randle has been very excited to join the Los Angeles Lakers.  Randle said he believes he and Kobe have a lot in common and he can learn a lot from the NBA legend.  Well Kobe feels that way too but if Randle fails to learn from him and their coach Byron Scott, Kobe let Randle know straight up that he’s an idiot.
