NBA: Knicks Losing Ways Are Starting To Take Toll On Carmelo Anthony’s Loyalty

Carmelo Anthony decided to stay with the Knicks and take the free agent money before the start of last season and most folks assumed at some point he would regret it. The team didn’t look good and the future didn’t look much brighter but he decided to be “loyal” and stay. What has followed has been the worst season in franchise history last year and another crap display this season. Sure they drafted Porzingis to give some hope moving forward but Melo sounds like the losing is wearing thin on him after speaking with reporters following a discussion with Phil Jackson.

NBA: Report, Knicks And Phil Jackson Have Talked About Him Coaching Next Season But There Is A Catch

Phil Jackson has constantly reiterated since joining the Knicks franchise that he has no desire to coach and those days are behind him. With the Derek Fisher experiment proving to be a disaster and the team not being sold on interim coach, Kurt Rambis for next year, there have allegedly been talks between Phil and the front office about maybe coaching next year. However if he did, the Knicks would still need another coach as well.

NBA: Carmelo Doesn’t Think He Did Anything Wrong, Insinuates Knicks Forced Him To Apologize To Fan

During Tuesday night’s loss at home to the Blazers, Carmelo Anthony somewhat got into it with a fan who was sitting close to the Knicks bench. According to Melo there was no cursing or hostility during the interaction but he still felt the desire to shout back to the fan. He essentially told the fan to stop complaining about the team losing and go talk to the owner about it, whom Melo gestured towards. It doesn’t seem like it was much more than that but the team seemingly forced Melo to apologize, although from the sounds of it he never actually apologized for anything, nor should he.
