It has been a long, long season for the Lakers and that’s crazy because we are only at Christmas. There is still alot of basketball to play and it will likely continue to get worse. During the Christmas night match up with the crosstown rival Clippers, Lakers Larry Nance Jr went to grab a rebound and tipped it into the basket instead. Normally that would be good but he tipped it into the Clippers basket and it was just an example of the type of year this team is having. The reaction from Lou Williams is priceless.


NBA: Byron Scott Reveals Kobe Told Him He Was Going To Retire In The Middle Of A Game

Yesterday I wrote about how Dwyane Wade was likely the first person outside Kobe’s family to know he was going to retire at the end of this season. He told him back in early November, way before Kobe penned his letter for The Players Tribune, in which he told the world he was retiring. As it turns out, his coach Byron Scott also found out before the rest of us (as you would expect) but it came in a very surprising fashion.

Seeing how things this season with the Lakers are not expected to go well, there has been constant talk about Kobe not wanting to go out like that and possibly wanting to play again next season. Problem is it’s pretty clear the Lakers wouldn’t want him back, meaning he would have to play elsewhere. The Knicks keep coming up simply because of the Phil Jackson, Derek Fisher, Triangle offense connection but Kobe wants to be clear that will not be happening.
