NBA: Michael Jordan Tells Lance Stephenson to Learn When to “Calm Down”

Lance Stephenson turned down a five-year, $44 million contract with the Indiana Pacers and instead decided to leave and sign with the Charlotte Hornets on a three-year, $27.4 million contract.  Before he agreed to the deal he had a meeting the night before with the Hornets coach Steve Clifford and the infamous owner Michael Jordan.  During that time Jordan told Stephenson that he expects him to “calm down” his on-court antics next season. The Hornets see Stephenson’s infamous ear-blowing incident with LeBron James as a by-product of his competitive demeanor, but expect him to mature his behavior.

NBA: Paul George Explains His Controversial “I Don’t Know” Answer About Bringing Back Lance Stephenson

After the Indiana Pacers lost to the Miami Heat and were eliminated from the playoffs, questions began to arise about what would happen to the team, mainly Lance Stephenson.  Stephenson proved to be a very vital asset for the Pacers at times being the strongest and hardest working player on the court but he also was making headlines for his trash talk and on the court antics with LeBron James.  Pacers star, Paul George was asked if he wanted the team to re-sign Stephenson, he paused, said “I don’t know” then went into a more detailed and politically correct answer.  Of course the media ran with the “I don’t know” part and ignored the rest.  Now George is speaking out and saying it was taken out of context.

Lance Stephenson will be a free agent in a few weeks and his status is definitely up in the air but he doesn’t seem to be stressing. He had been working out hard at the Pacers arena the past couple weeks but took a break to show off a little bit on his Instagram. Check it out.
