(Video) This Is What Happened When Kendrick Lamar Brought A Fan Onstage In Houston

Over the weekend, Kendrick Lamar performed a set at the Day and Night Festival in Houston. During his performance of “m.A.A.d. City,” as he usually does, he decided to bring a fan from the audience onstage to assist him with the popular song. It’s quite an experience for a fan of the TDE rapper, but a guy by the name of Sam went a bit of a different route. Sam, who goes by the name of Corporate Dough in his aspiring rap career, either didn’t know all the words or simply just didn’t care…as he decided to forego the “m.A.A.d. City” performance in favor of a freestyle of his own. Hey, you gotta shoot your shot somehow, right? Apparently it worked in his favor, as TMZ reports that Jas Prince (the music exec responsible for discovering Drake) even approached Corporate Dough afterward to exchange info! Crazy! Check out the clip to see what caught Jas’ attention below.

Kendrick Lamar doesn’t have to do much to get the attention these days. It’s easy for him to hop on a “Control” verse and go silent, or drop and album and do a few shows here-n-there and go silent. Unlike Meek Mill, Kendrick’s recent rage against Drake wasn’t a big stir, but got enough attention; as did his latest performance at Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco. The Compton native turned day-two of the festival into a party of old and new verses as he performed “m.A.A.d city” from his original debut album as well some his from the most recent, To Pimp A Butterfly.

One right after another, the players of Top Dawg are falling into their own. It’s no secret that Kendrick Lamar is smashing things, allowing listeners to soak in the lyrics of good kid, m.A.A.d. city, but now ScHoolBoy Q has the rap community speaking good things about recently released album, Oxymoron. With the duo’s work being the apple of rap culture’s eye right now, the two were able to snag a spot for Billboard Magazine’s next issue. The title reads, The Tale of Top Dawg. That sounds like a must read, so until its release, check out the gallery for the cover shot.
