Joseph Fiennes has just landed a leading role in a Michael Jackson film as the King of Pop himself. Everyone is talking about it. No one is really comfortable with this role due to the fact that Michael Jackson was for one black and two made it clear during an interview with Oprah back in 93′ that he did not want a white man to play his role.

Earlier this week, news of an upcoming Michael Jackson film had began to circulate. While that news is would usually be awesome (especially if it were anything like The Jacksons: An American Dream), but fans were taken aback when they heard of Joseph Fiennes, a White actor out of the United Kingdom, playing the role. Why did casting make that call? Someone one dug real deep to find a 1993 interview between Michael and Oprah Winfrey that makes it clear of the “Bad” artist’s expectations of what type of person should portray him on-screen. It looks like none other than a white guy has been casted to play Michael Jackson, a black man, in a new UK TV movie. Yes, a white guy. Joseph Fiennes, the brother of Ralph Fiennes, will be playing the role of the legendary entertainer. The cast also includes Stockard Channing who will be playing Elizabeth Taylor and Brian Cox as Marlon Brando.

Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ Just Became The First Album To Be Certified 30x Platinum

And the greatest just became greater. Today, the RIAA announced that Michael Jackson’s iconic album Thriller (released in 1982,) just became the first album ever to be certified platinum a whopping 30 times in the United States.
