Cole, while last year’s inaugural round included Rakim, Drake, Nas and Biggie. Lyrics From Missy Elliott, Tupac & J. Cole Will Cover Next Round Of Sprite Cans

Remember last summer when Nas, Drake, Rakim and Biggie’s lyrics appeared on Sprite cans? Well, the beverage company is running the Obey Your Verse campaign once again this summer, and this time it will feature the words of Missy Elliott, Tupac and J. Cole. “We wanted to make sure we identified artists who represented our point of view of staying true to yourself, artists who stay true to who they are and what they want to represent,” Bobby Oliver, Coca-Cola’s director of North America, said. “And we wanted a nice balance of artists that have longevity in hip hop and some with more recent appeal.”

(Photos) Missy Elliott For Marc Jacobs

Missy Elliott has been tapped as the face of Marc Jacobs’ Fall 2016 campaign. This comes just one day after VH1 announced that the legendary rapper, singer and producer will be honored at this year’s Hip-Hop Honors ceremony, alongside Queen Latifah and other influential women in the genre. Her lyrics have also been chosen to appear on Sprite cans for the summer. Missy’s back like she never left! “From the moment I heard The Rain back in 1997, I was entranced by the genius rhythms and brilliant rhymes of Missy Elliott,” Jacobs says. “Missy’s music has kept me and my design team happily energized through countless weekdays, weeknights and weekends during those long hours of sketching, fitting, styling and doing looks.” So much TRUTH!
