Mayor De Blasio Requests A Halt In Protests To Mourn With Officers Families
After speculation that he was ‘hiding’ from the families of officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos, mayor Bill de Blasio visits that families’s home and holds on a press conference of the two officers’ deaths. The fatal shootings of officers Liu and Ramos, tensions among New York citizens, its officials and fellow officers have risen. Most of the blame has fallen on New York City mayor, Bill de Blasio, who spoke Monday morning on what residents should be doing at the moment. It’s not protesting or causing riots, but, “It’s time for everyone to put aside political debates, put aside protests, put aside all of the things that we will talk about in due time,” he said. While the world continues to mourn the deaths of Eric Garner and Michael Brown, walks, marches and debates continue. However, de Blasio would like it if everyone accompanies the Liu and Ramos, “Families on their difficult journey. Let’s see them through the funerals…then the debate can begin again.” Hit the jump for more.
Santa Con 2014 Takes Over NYC!!
You either love and participate in Santa Con or you totally hate it and can’t understand why anyone would dress like Santa (Shame his name in such a way) and go out to Drink til you vomit or pass out. For those of you who don’t know, Santa Con is the annual bar-hopping dress yourself like Santa day. It starts off in Times Square and who knows where these drunk, crazy Santa’s end up. Last years Santa Con featured many fights and disorderly conduct. This year NYC made sure to warn Santa dressers that if they didn’t behave this would be the last year that Santa Con would be allowed. Welp this year seemed a bit more peaceful, of course there were still people vomiting in the streets and out of cars but not too many fights were seen. Maybe people were too busy at the Millions March, a real cause. But that didn’t stop the so many other New Yorkers and foreigners who dressed like Santa and paraded the streets. To promote her recently album entitled VII, G.O.O.D. Music/ Def Jam signee Teyana Taylor delivered a phenomenal show on Thursday night at S.O.B.’s in New York City, turning anyone who doubted her into an instant believer. Teyana put on quite a show from tears to laughter to even doing the “Nae Nae” on stage for her fans. She even got personal and mentioned her famous New York Knicks player boyfriend Iman Shumpert, who was unfortunately not able to attend because he had a basketball game to play in. The Harlem-born entertainer brought out Fabolous to the stage to perform with her, which was an obvious crowd-pleaser, as well. She closed the show out by performing her track “Maybe” along with an amazing dance performance to accompany her flawless vocals. Also in attendance in the building was Kanye West to support Teyana, who is also his artist.
