Drake And Nicki Minaj Among Nominees For TIME’s “Person Of The Year”
TIME magazine is gearing up for their annual Person of the Year cover, and to help make the decision a little easier, the editors have opened up a poll to their users to vote (although the decision ultimately lies with the editors). This years lists features 58 nominees including, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Kim Kardashian, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lawrence, Serena Williams, Adele, Donald Trump, Stephen Colbert and more. Read more below.
Nominees Announced For The 2015 BET Hip-Hop Awards
The nominees have been revealed for the 2015 BET Hip-Hop Awards…although you know what everyone really is here for are the cyphers! Airing on October 13 (this is usually pre-taped about a week or two before – not sure if they’re continuing with this formula), Drake takes the lead with 12 nods, while Nicki Minaj, Fetty Wap, Big Sean and Kendrick Lamar also received a great amount of nominations. The 57th Annual Grammy Awards will be held on February 8, 2015 in Los Angeles and a slew of musical talent are scheduled to be in the building. During ‘CBS This Morning’ Pharrell Williams and Ed Sheeran announced several categories for the upcoming award show. In the running for Best Urban Contemporary Album includes Chris Brown’s X, Jhené Aiko’s Sail Out, Beyoncé’s Beyoncé, Mali Is’s Mali Music and Hollywood Walk of Fame honoree, Pharell Williams for G.I.R L. The Global Spin Awards is back for its 3rd annual year, honoring some of the best DJ’s in the world. At a press conference earlier this week, Kid Capri, our own Funk Master Flex, DJ Premier, REVOLT CEO Keith Clinkscales, and Rob Kenner of Boomshots and Editor at Large at Mass Appeal did the honors of announcing the nominees for nearly 30 categories of DJ Culture. The full list of nominees as well as a short clip from the press conference are after the jump. The award show will take place November 18th at the New World Stage in NYC.
