(Photos) The NWA Biopic Cast Has Been Finalized! Check Out Who’s Playing Who!

There are three people that must agree to everything on the upcoming NWA biopic “Straight Outta Compton” (Cube, Dre and Eazy-E’s widow Tomica Wright,) so it’s been a LONG time coming (five years and four different writers) but finally, the main roles have been casted and the production is about to be under way! As previously reported, Ice Cube’s 23-year-old son O’Shea Jackson Jr. will be playing his father. Today, we’ve learned that classically trained actor Marcus Callender will play Dr. Dre, while the even lesser-known Jason Mitchell will play Eazy-E. Both actors have had bit parts in a couple of TV shows, but nothing major at all, so this will definitely be huge for them both. Dre was lobbying for Fruitvale Station actor Michael B. Jordan to play him, but he had a prior commitment with a Fantastic Four reboot. F. Gary Gray (who’s previously worked with Cube on Friday) will hold directorial duties, and principal photography is set to begin in less than two months. I can’t WAIT to see this!

Eazy E’s Son Likely To Play His Father in Upcoming NWA Movie

We told you a few weeks back that director John Singleton, the man behind classics like “Boys N Da Hood” and more was on board to direct a movie about the lives of gangsta rappers NWA, alongside actor and former group mate, Ice Cube. Obviously the people who will portray the rappers are key to this movie, and now “Lil Eazy E” is in talks to star as his father. Who better than that?! Details below. Marisa Mendez
