@OSheaJacksonJr Will Not Boycott The Oscars

There is a lot of talk going on about the Oscars right now, as many are upset about the lack of diversity in the nominees. Notable names like Jada Pinkett-Smith, Tyrese and Snoop Dogg have announced their decisions to boycott the prestigious awards ceremony until a real change comes, and even the Academy’s President has released a lengthy statement about the situation, promising a concerted effort moving forward to prevent the lack of inclusion. In the conversation about the lack of diversity in the nominees, Straight Outta Compton has come up quite often – as not only did it feature amazing acting from newcomers O’Shea Jackson Jr., Jason Mitchell and Corey Hawkins, but it broke box office records around the globe, and shined another much-needed light on racial profiling from police – a very pressing issue right now. Despite all of this, however, it was only nominated for Best Screenplay…and guess what? The film’s two writers? Yeah, they’re white. SOC star (and my future children’s father! Hey bae!) O’Shea Jackson Jr. isn’t worried, though, and he still plans to be in attendance, come February 28. (Totally available that day if you need a date, Shea…)

(Video) Ice Cube Reacts To ‘Straight Outta Compton’ Golden Globes Snub

As award season approaches, the nominees for the Golden Globes were announced yesterday. Quite surprisingly, Straight Outta Compton didn’t get a single nod, despite breaking records worldwide and being a box office smash. They’ve been nominated this week for the SAG Awards as well as the NAACAP Image Awards, however, and the best (the Oscars) is still yet to come. That being said, Ice Cube isn’t sweating it.

(Video) Ice Cube Shuts Down Concert After Crowd Starts Fighting

Ice Cube was not in the mood for the BS last night during his concert in Long Beach, California. The N.W.A. rapper was four or five songs deep into his set when fans right in front of the stage started fist fighting. Security flocked to the area and broke up the fights but Cube was pissed. He shut down the show saying, “Bullsh*t” and walked off the stage. Check out the footage below.

(Photo) ‘Straight Outta Compton’ Stars Meet Terrorist Train Heroes

The cast of Straight Outta Compton are currently in Paris for the various European premieres of the film, and last night, met some other new stars as well. O’Shea Jackson Jr. and Jason Mitchell ran into the heroes from the recent terrorist train attack – Anthony Sadler, Spencer Stone and Alek Skarlatos – and according to Anthony’s sister Arissa, the Compton duo asked for a pic before the heroes even got the chance to because they were so honored to meet them! O’Shea and Jason even invited the trio to the Paris SOC premiere, but they weren’t sure if they’d be able to make the screening because of security risks.
