Martin Lawrence Will Air First Stand Up Special In 14 Years

Well we know that Martin Lawrence will soon be making a huge come back with ‘Bad Boys 3,’ but now we see that he has something else in store. Lawrence will be returning for a stand-up special on Showtime. This will be Lawrence’s first standup in 14 years.

Machine Gun Kelly will make his television debut in Cameron Crowe’s new Showtime series Roadies, premiering on Sunday, June 26th at 10PM EST. The show will focus on the lives of a group of roadies on tour, and give “an inside look at the reckless, romantic, funny and often poignant lives of a committed group of characters who live for music and the de facto family they’ve formed along the way.” Kells will be playing the role of Jesse, twin brother to the main character and a guy who “thrives around guitars and espresso machines.” Check out the extended trailer below. Ja Rule spills the tea and says there will be a Drama Series coming soon inspired by the infamous Murda Inc. Competing with shows like Empire & Power, this show is said to portray and feature Ashanti, Irv & the rest of Murda Inc. They will reunite to tell their story in a new show up that Ja Rule says will be by airing sometime next year on Showtime.


Common Inks HBO Television Deal

Common has just signed a two-year first-look deal with HBO. Through this contract, with the help of his manager/partner Derek Dudley and development head Nicole Dow, Common will be permitted to produce a series of projects, through his production company Freedom Road Productions. He is also currently working on a drama with HBO’s competitor Showtime. The untitled production is set in Chicago and and is preparing to shoot a pilot episode. Common opened up about the upcoming series saying, “We’re showing the world what it is to be a young person growing up in Chicago, the good and the tough parts. The humanity.” Congratulations, Commmon!


Cameron Crowe’s Showtime Pilot Starring Machine Gun Kelly Officially Picked Up By Network

Earlier this year, Machine Gun Kelly was cast in Cameron Crowe’s TV series ROADIES, and the cast and crew filmed the one-hour pilot for Showtime out in Vancouver. Now 10 months later – just as Kells is preparing to release his sophomore album tomorrow – he got the news that the show has officially been picked up by the network! “Showtime picked up the pilot,” MGK wrote on Instagram with a photo of the email from Crowe. “i’ll save this email forever. looks like your boy is officially in a TV series. #Roadies” The show will focus on the lives of a group of roadies on tour, and give “an inside look at the reckless, romantic, funny and often poignant lives of a committed group of characters who live for music and the de facto family they’ve formed along the way.” Kells will be playing the role of Jesse, twin brother to the main character and a guy who “thrives around guitars and espresso machines.” The show is set to air next year, but you can get a [very brief] look via the trailer below!
