Among the many not-for-U.S.-sale vehicles we adore, there are few SUV’s counted. In fact, there may be just one: The Land Rover Defender. Unavailable in the colonies since many of us were in short pants – or at least college – the Defender is the direct descendent of the original Landie and the last bastion of the traditionally butch British utility. Auto Talk: Audi TT S Line competition special edition announced
Audi has introduced an S Line Competition version of the TT that dresses things up with the S Line sport and exterior packages, plus a few extra features at reduced cost. Globally, it can be fitted to any TT with up to 211 horsepower, which for us means the standard 2.0 TFSI coupe since we don’t get the diesel or smaller gas engines. Funk Flex
Auto Talk: UK gets Mazda MX-5 Miata Kuro special edition
The word “kuro” means “black” in Japanese, and several special edition kuro models have made there way to the UK from Japanese automakers in the past few years: the Nissan Juke Kuro last year and the Mazda RX-8 Kuro in 2007. Mazda has gone back to black with the MX-5 Kuro, but unlike those other cars, this one is oddly available in Crystal White Pearlescent, as well as Velocity Red Mica and Brilliant Black. Funk Flex
