I saw this commercial on TV today and it gave me chills… turns out, it was directed by Spike Lee!
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of 9/11, State Farm partnered with award-winning director Spike Lee to film a touching tribute to thank the heroes of New York. Nearly 150 school children (ages 8-11) from the New York City area visited four firehouses and thanked the firefighters through song.

The pay cable network has handed out a pilot order to the drama project about a young boxer from Entourage creator Doug Ellin, filmmaker Spike Lee, former boxing champion Mike Tyson and writer John Ridley. Ridley wrote the script for the pilot, which will be directed by Lee. Set in current-day Newark, NJ, nicknamed “brick city,†Da Brick is described as a contemporary exploration of what it means to be a young, black man in supposedly post-racial America and is loosely inspired by aspects of Tyson’s youth. Search is under way for a young black actor to play the lead.
I really miss the commercials from Spike Lee as Mars Blackmon and God B-Ball Player Michael Jordan were in. It was such a moment in their careers before spike was heavy Knicks Mascot and MJ adding on to his legacy. The trading cards are a classic memorabilia of that era in time.
