Just weeks before he was supposed to stand trial for stealling millions of journal articles from an electronic archive to try to make them freely available, 26-year-old and co-founder of Reddit.com Aaron Swartz, was found dead in his Brooklyn apartment. Swartz hung himself to avoid facing years behind bars and a crazy amount of fines. Swartz was arrested in 2010 for stealing journals from the archive at MIT. Google Drive, the cloud storage service rumored to be launching soon, looks like it will include support for third-party apps and a software development kit. Google Operating System has looked at the source code for Google Docs and found several mentions of an SDK in conjunction with Google Drive, including a mention of “google-apps.drive-sdk” and an SDK “open with” command.
