(Photos) NBA: Scott Brooks Gives Up Coaching Prospects

What turned out to be a catastrophic melt down for the Oklahoma City Thunder–after being hit with injury after injury–took a turn for better, or worse depending on who you ask, after they decided to cut ties with head coach Scott Brooks. Normally, a coach would be hungry to find a new opportunity but it doesn’t look like Scott had that same passion–right now. Click more to check the full story!

(Photo) NBA: New Job Opportunity In OKC

No surprise that Scottie Brooks’ job was on the line after The Oklahoma City Thunder failed to make to  the finals after the 2011-12 season but more so that the they didn’t even make the playoffs this season.  Obvious factors such as Serge Ibaka and Kevin Durant being injured played a role in them not appearing in the playoffs but this decision by the Thunder’s front office was clearly made because of a lack of a championship title under Brooks.

NBA: So Petty, LOL! Shawn Kemp Throws Party In Seattle To Celebrate OKC Not Making The Playoffs

People in Seattle are still fuming mad at the NBA and Oklahoma City Thunder for taking their beloved franchise and relocating after all the time spent in the northwest. You would think they would at least support the players because the team moving had nothing to do with them but it sounds like folks in the emerald city are just full of hate towards the organization period. Turns out former players like Shawn Kemp feel the same way because last night he threw a bash at a club in Seattle and it was all in the name of celebrating OKC missing the playoffs. The idea itself is kind of funny, but at the end of the day it’s petty and doesn’t help them get a new team anytime soon. The city almost became the new home of the Sacramento Kings before new owners stepped in and kept the team in place this past summer.

NBA: Russell Westbrook Has Surgery On His Face, Will Be Re-Evaluated Later This Week

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook underwent a successful procedure to address a fracture in the zygomatic arch bone of his right cheek Saturday, the team announced. He has been ruled out for Sunday’s game at the Los Angeles Lakers and will be re-evaluated this week to determine when he can return to play.

(Video/Photos) NBA: Russell Westbrook Has A Dent In His Face After Being Kneed By Teammate

I can honestly say I do not think I have ever seen this before. Russell Westbrook got kneed in the face by a teammate last night during the closing seconds of the Thunder’s loss to the Trailblazers. Typically if that happens you may see some blood, or abrasions on the skin, but not in this case, just a random dent in the side if Russell’s face. I joke about him not being human because of his freakish athleticism, but now I am wondering if he really is a cyborg. He appeared injured for a few seconds but then seemed fine to finish the game. It appeared nobody even noticed the dent until Mark Jackson, who was calling the game said something. No word on Russell’s condition from the team just yet, but wouldn’t be surprised to see him possibly wear a mask next time they play. Check the gallery!

(Video) NBA: LOL, Russell Westbrook leaves KD Hanging After Getting Frustrated

Russell Westbrook had a hell of a game last night in a losing effort against the Suns, but there were times during the game where Russ was struggling. At one point when coach took Russ out of the game, you could see he was frustrated and just wanted to walk to the bench. Kevin Durant extended his hand to give Russ some love, but got totally ignored! Now some fans will make more out of this because of who the two players are, but this was really nothing more than a funny moment. KD even leaves his hand there after realizing Russ left him hanging.
