Nas’ Documentary ‘Time Is Illmatic’ Set To Air On Showtime

Legendary Queens emcee Nas recently released his long-anticipated Time Is Illmatic documentary in theaters all across the U.S. for only a few screenings of the film. Nas went back to Queensbridge Housing Projects where he was raised and walked us through his entire childhood in a 74-minute film that captures how Illmatic, which is debatably one of the best Hip-Hop albums ever, came about and how he evolved as a rapper throughout the years. Since not everyone was lucky enough to catch the film while it was playing in theaters, Showtime picked it up to air on their channel. The film is set to air on Friday, December 12th at 9 PM. Check out the trailer for Time Is Illmatic below. After being able to experience the film in theaters, I am SO excited to watch it again. As a die-hard Nas fan, it was an amazing experience to see my favorite rapper detail his entire life on the big screen. If you think you are a Nas expert, I guarantee you that you will learn things from this film that you never knew about the Queens native! Definitely a must-see for not only Nas fans, but Hip-Hop heads in general due to the fact that Illmatic plays such a huge role in the culture.
