Drake went gold his first week out, moving a whopping 658k units of his third studio album, Nothing Was The Same, this past week. It makes for the second highest overall debut this year (trailing Justin Timberlake’s The 20/20 Experience which did 968k), the highest rap debut and most importantly, Drizzy’s personal best sales week. His last album, 2011’s Take Care, started at number 1 with 631k, while his debut album, Thank Me Later, launched at number 1 with 447k in 2010. He just keeps on getting better! Billboard’s Top 10 Album Sales, Week Ending 7/28/13 … Selena Gomez Dethrones Jay Z & Rich Gang Debuts In Top 10!

It’s a big week for Roc Nation! Jay Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail topped charts once again this week, moving another 129k copies in its second week in stores. Meanwhile, J. Cole, though he’s in his lowest position on the charts at number 7 this week, has officially been certified gold with Born Sinner‘s latest 39k copies sold tipping it over the 500k mark. Billboard’s Top 10 Album Sales, Week Ending 7/7/13 … J. Cole Shoots Up To Number 1!

This is a really major move for J. Cole. After 2 weeks on the charts at number two, his sophomore album Born Sinner shot up to the top spot, giving the Roc Nation rapper his second number one album with 58k units sold this week!
