NASA Say’s 2012 Was The 9th Warmest Year On Record (Video)

Update: Hurricane Sandy Shuts Down Transportation, Holland And Battery Tunnels To Close At 2 p.m.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo has announced that the Hugh Carey Tunnel (Brooklyn-Battery) and the Holland Tunnel will close on 2 p.m. Monday as a precaution against flooding. The Queens-Midtown Tunnel will remain open until further notice. If winds hit 60 mph the MTA and Port Authority will close bridges also. Click below to find out more. WiL Major


Governor Cuomo Declares NY A State Of Emergency In Preparation For Hurricane Sandy

I know that Hurricane Irene didn’t do that much damage to the tri-state area, but it seems that if it stays on the track it’s on now Hurricane Sandy can. Governor Andrew Cuomo has already declared New York a state of emergency ahead of Sandy’s arrival to to help mobilize resources to local governments and rapid response efforts. So far this storm is said to be hitting us sometime from Sunday-Tuesday depending on which course it takes and as of right now, it will be a Category 1 Hurricane when it touches land. The Jersey shore has already been evacuated and boarded up in preparation for the storm and it’s supposed to definitely make some form on impact in Jersey.
