FCC Approves TMO and Metro PCS Merger

Yesterday the FCC approved the merger between TMO and Metro PCS. The new $1.5 billion deal will see T-Mobile take over Metro’s 9 million subscribers, which will boost TMO’s subscribers also. TMO tried acquiring Metro back in October but it was’nt made official until yesterday. The merger might have helped TMO acquire the iPhone something they have lacked over the year since all the other major carriers currently have the iPhone in their line up. TMO carried the iPhone in an unofficial capacity, were users would have 2g service. Currently the carrier is also working on switching to LTE which could also help them get more subscribers. After the break check out their press release about the merger.

iPhone 5s And Cheap iPhone Have No Real Release Dates !!!!

We all know Samsung is now on the heels of Apple, and Apple is willing to widen the gap that share shrunk due to not inovationg the iPhone. The news reports suggest from a reliable source saying that Apple could now drop both the cheaper iPhone and iPhone 5s between June and October. Within in that time Samsung will have released the Galaxy S IV and the rumored Note III. So at the moment Apple has to put something in stone to widen the gap.“We expect Apple will introduce its new iPhones and iOS7 in June, and start shipping the new iPhones (5S and low-cost model) in the FDD version in July,” the analyst wrote in his note, which was picked up by MacRumors. “Both dates are earlier than last year’s roadmap. We attribute this to: (1) an effort to avoid repeating the fatal mistake of last year of the delayed iPhone 5 launch, which gave competitors room to grab market share; and (2) the new iPhones this year are mainly designed on the basis of the current iPhone 5, which suggests development time could be reduced.”

Apple MacBook Pros With Retina Display Gets Cheaper!!!

Back in June of 2012 Apple announced they would be releasing their retina display Macbook pro. Now at the time of the announcement, Apple said the Retina display Macbook would run about $2,200 at the time of release. Fast forward present date and Apple just announced they will selling Retina display Macbook Pro for the starting price of $1499 for 128GB of flash, and $1699 for an upgraded 2.6ghz processor and 256GB of flash not bad. While the Macbook air 13-inch, 256GB flash drive MacBook Air to $1399 from $1499. The (non-Retina) Air has a 1.8ghz dual-core processor and 4GB of memory.  There should’nt be a surprise in a price dip since Apple head honcho Tim Cook said at Goldman Sachs that the company was looking at new price points on their products. So if your on the market for a new laptop this is the time to strike.

Google To Drop New Nexus 7 In May

Looks like Google is looking to make another return with a new Nexus 7 device in May. According to Digitimes the new Nexus Tablet will be built with partner Asus along with Google of course. The rumors are saying Google is not doing an overhaul of the device but more revamps and fixing things here and there, the big improvement will be the full 1080p high-definition display. The Tablet will run on Google’s “upgraded Jelly Bean-based Android operating system to enhance integration between the software and the hardware.” I suppose Google is not finished working on Keylime, so the tablet will stick with Jelly Bean for now.
