Zoo Director Pleads Guilty To Animal Cruelty!!!
A Virgina Zoo director pleaded guilty to animal cruelty and possession of animal euthanasia drug without a license charges dropped after she drowned a wallaby in a bucket of water. Meghan Mogensen, the Zoo Director at Reston Zoo, which is actually owned by her father was charged after she euthanized an injured wallaby. The wallaby sustained an eye injury that other zoo staff deemed treatable at first, but when the injury worsened concern about the animals health rose. Eric Mogesen, Meghan’s father and the Zoo owner deemed the injuries worthy of euthanasia and his daughter carried it out. A Zoo employee found a bucket of water next to the wallaby’s empty cage, and suspected wrong doing, then reported to the police after she found the dead wallaby wrapped up in bag drenched in water. Two-Year-Old Boy Mauled To Death @ Pittsburgh Zoo
A two-year-old boy lost his balance and fell over the railings at a Pittsburgh Zoo. He fell into a dog pit full of African wild dogs and was mauled to death by several of them. Zookeepers and police tried to save the boy and shoot down the dogs with darts, but failed to do so. According the workers at the zoo, the African Painted dogs were in pack mentality and were not responding to the ways that people tried to stop them, so their methods became ineffective. 1-Week-Old Panda Cub Dies At National Zoo
A giant panda cub born one week ago at the National Zoo in Washington D.C. has died. Panda keepers and volunteers heard a distress call from the unnamed cub’s mother, Mei Xiang, at 9:17 a.m., today, the zoo said in a statement. Read more after the jump Quay
