Johns Hopkins has designed a new HIV fighting treatment that is intended to rid infants of the virus within 48 hours of being born. The baby, an infant from rural Mississippi, was infected by the mother who did not know she had HIV. Within 30 hours of being born, the baby had a few tests that tested positive for HIV. A woman, Judith Shaw, was told by her boyfriend that she had been given AIDS a few years ago. Can you imagine what she felt hearing those words from the man she loves and the father of her child? Today Is Worlds AIDS Day! Be Sure To Get Tested!
Today is Worlds AIDS Day which is dedicated to raising awareness about HIV/AIDS. December 1 has been recognized as Worlds AIDS Day since 1995 in hopes to make people more aware of how serious the disease is. The Empire State Building will be lit red today in honor of today when everyone is advised to ear red to honor it but more importantly to remind sexual active people to GET TESTED! Because there still is no sure cure for HIV/AIDS your best defense against the life-threatening disease is to not get it in the first place and if you do have it, finding out ASAP can make a huge difference in how fast the disease progresses! Whoa! Paris Hilton Says Some HORRIBLE Things About Gay Men!
Paris Hilton’s PR people are going to have to go into overtime for this one. The heiress is under hot water after some extremely disturbing comments about gay men were uttered out of her perfectly glossed lips. Paris was in an NYC cab earlier this month when the comments were made, and the cab driver (unbeknownst to Paris) actually recorded the whole thing. Now THAT’S pretty skeevy.
