IFWT Celebrates Black History Month: Honoring Condoleezza Rice

Condoleezza Rice served as the 66th United States Secretary of State, and was the second person to hold that office in the administration of President George W. Bush. Rice was the first female African-American secretary of state, as well as the second African American (after Colin Powell), and the second woman (after Madeleine Albright). Rice was President Bush’s National Security Advisor during his first term, making her the first woman to serve in that position. She has done so much for both women and African Americans in politics, so today and everyday, we honor her contributions to society! Read more about her below!


IFWT Celebrates Black History Month: Honoring Madam C.J. Walker

To celebrate Black History Month, InFlexWeTrust will be honoring influential members of Black history daily throughout the month. Today, we are honoring Madam C.J. Walker. Walker was born Sarah Breedlove and would go on to become the first female self-made millionaire. Madam C.J. Walker is a huge part of not only Black History, but Women’s History as well. During her lifetime, she not only became a successful businesswoman but was also a philanthropist. Walker made a name for herself creating and manufacturing beauty products that catered to African America women. Read more about her life and accomplishments below.


IFWT Celebrates Black History Month: Honoring Thurgood Marshall

To celebrate Black History Month, InFlexWeTrust will be honoring influential members of Black history daily throughout the month. Today, we are honoring Thurgood Marshall. Marshall was the first African American justice on the Supreme Court. Before he became a judge, Marshall made a name for himself as a successful lawyer. One of his most famous cases as a lawyer was Brown vs Board of Education in which made schools separated because of race unconstitutional. Marshall worked with President Kennedy before his death and was later appointed to the Supreme Court by President Johnson in 1967. Read more about him and his life below.


IFWT Celebrates Black History Month: Honoring Joe Louis

Joe Louis was the world heavyweight boxing champion from 1937 to 1949. He is considered to be one of the greatest heavyweights of all time. Nicknamed the Brown Bomber, Louis helped elevate boxing from a nadir in popularity in the post-Jack Dempsey era by establishing a reputation as an honest, hardworking fighter at a time when the sport was dominated by gambling interests. IFWT Celebrates Black History Month: Honoring Colin Powell

Colin Powell is an American statesman and a retired four-star general in the United States Army. He was the 65th United States Secretary of State, serving under President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2005. He was the first African American to serve in that position. He was the first, and so far the only, African American to serve on the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
