(Photo) The 18th Anniversary of Big Pun’s “Capital Punishment” Tribute is This Weekend

To celebrate the 18th anniversary of the late, Big Pun, and his first Platinum album, “Capital Punishment,” the Reveal agency and Avant Garde have come together to organize a Big Pun tribute this weekend. The tribute will be a two day event taking place on April 22nd, and April 23rd.

Dayton, Ohio recently hosted the execution of Dennis McGuire, who was convicted for the rape and murder of a pregnant newlywed back in 1989. Unlike typical approaches used when putting one to death, McGuire’s seemed torturous. It took around 25 minutes between the time he was injected with a newer set of drugs and his time of death. Today marks the 15th anniversary of the release of Big Pun’s debut and classic album, Capital Punishment. There’s no doubting that this album set the tone for Pun’s short but legendary career. The album peaked at #5 Billboard 200 charts and #1 on the Top R&B Albums chart for two weeks, was nominated for Best Rap Album at the 1999 Grammys, and was the first Latin hip hop record to go platinum. Columbia University Students Prove Texas Legal System Wrongfully Killed An Innocent Man

Columbia University students proved that the state of Texas lethally injected an innocent man,Carlos DeLuna.  A man’s life was taken for a crime that he actually did not do, but he paid for it.  Capital punishment is always controversial subject,especially on accounts were it was unnecessary.  Check out why Carlos was given the ultimate punishment and who actually committed the crime , after the jump!
