It’s been six years since the untimely death of Las Vegas resident DJ, and Mash-up King, DJ AM. A documentary was made highlighting the life and times of the rockstar DJ, which debuted last week at the Tribeca Film Festival. Billboard reviewed the film and gave it 4 stars. Kevin Kerslake wrote and directed the film, making sure to include appearances by DJ AM’s contemporaries such as Mark Ronson, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Travis Barker, Steve Aoki, Diplo, and A-Trak.

As if a new summer album from Nasir Jones is not good enough, we hear more great news coming from the the Illmatic emcee. Nas is dipping his executive producer toes in the water of a new break dancing documentary, Shake The Dust. The documentary shows young children and teens from places like Yemen to Uganda showing off their skills of dance action, and how their different cultures have influenced the art. Amy Winehouse Documentary Blasted By Late Singer’s Family
The family of the late singer Amy Winehouse is speaking out against the documentary about the life of their daughter, they say the film is “unbalanced” and “misleading.” The film is set to debut at the Cannes Film Festival in May. Get more details after the jump.

Showtime did a great job with the Kobe Bryant “Muse” documentary, so I only expect great things when they air the “Iverson” doc on May 16th. Allen Iverson’s impact on the NBA as a whole is still to this day very underrated, not too mention his greatness as a player. He never really had a great supporting cast and he never complained. He might not have liked “practice” so much, but when it was game time, he went harder than anyone and played much bigger than his 6 foot frame. Check out the trailer below.
