NFL: Jerry Jones Has First Talk with Dez Bryant Since Arrest

Sabrina B. Dallas Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones said he spoke extensively with troubled wide receiver Dez Bryant on Tuesday. Jones said he avoided speaking with Bryant because he was angry after the players July 16 arrest for allegedly hitting his mother and being charged with a Class A misdemeanor for family violence.

The Dallas Cowboys haven’t sniffed the Super Bowl since the 1995 season, the type of dry stretch that would bury many general managers a decade ago.  But Jerry Jones acts as the GM of the Cowboys, and since Jones also owns the team, his position with the franchise is rather secure.
