Earlier in the week, KiD CuDi announced that he was leaving G.O.O.D. Music and yesterday Big Sean released a new track, “Switch Up.” Many people began to speculate that Sean’s track was a shot at CuDi or something along those line. G.O.O.D. Music Comments On Kid Cudi’s Departure
Yesterday afternoon, it was revealed via a radio interview that Kid Cudi had left his longtime label, Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music imprint. It was pretty shocking, considering he’s been on the label for over 5 years now, and has worked extensively with Kanye in that time, but Cudi said he simply wanted to “start my own path.” He even said he’d spoke to Kanye and he supported it. Today, Complex reached out to Def Jam for comments. Below is their response.

Kid Cudi took to the airwaves at Power 106 in L.A. today, and officially announced his departure from the label that Yeezy built. The decision was so new, that his labelmates weren’t even aware that he’d left! Kanye was aware, however, as the guys spoke about it on a phone call recently, and apparently Hov knew as well.
