This is a little over the top for me. If it isn’t one thing that gets under my skin, it’s a racist and/or prejudice person. During the semi-final game between Grand Forks Red River High School and Fargo Davies, three fans show up wearing Klansman outfits. I mean the all white, pointed hat, covering the face garment and all. The Athletic Director of Fargo Public Schools, Todd Olson told the Grand Forks Herald that “white-outs” (the tradition of fans donning all-white garb to hockey games) are an accepted practice.” You can’t be serious. “To be very honest, I think you’re looking for something that is not there,” he added. These all white outfits are traditional symbols for the KKK, so how is it that “it’s not there.” Where are the parents that allowed their kids to wear this outside? I’m through. Hard to believe that the Ku Klux Klan is alive and thriving as a subculture in our society, despite the diversity in this country. They just won’t let go of segregation and will not let down their guards and accept the real world and the country we live in. So they practice old traditions and rituals and still hide behind their robes and hoods, which they give as gifts to young children in their community. Wow! The Girl That Was Burned Alive & Had KKK Written On Her Car…Did It To HERSELF!
What a crazy story. Over the weekend, America was outraged and sickened when they found out a 20-year-old black woman from Louisiana had seemingly been the victim of a hate crime, being burned alive by “3 men in white hoodies,” who wrote “KKK” and “N*gger” on her car. Sharmeka Moffitt had called 911 from the park she had been walking in, and was taken to the hospital where doctors determined that she’d have to stay there for at least a month to undergo surgery for the severe burns covering over 60% of her body. She received an outpouring of love from all over, including receiving close to 50k likes as of 9:30pm EST tonight on a support page created on Facebook. Her mom spoke out with a tearful statement yesterday, adding “I have never known anything like this to happen in Winnsboro.” Now the story has taken a twisted turn, after police and FBI investigations determined it was Sharmeka herself that wrote the hateful words on her own car and lit herself on fire.
