NBA Rumor: Phil Jackson Was Interested in Knicks Coaching Job But Dolan Didn’t Want Him

The New York Knicks coach saga ended when it was announced that they came to a multi-year agreement with interim coach Mike Woodson.  One of the much discussed candidates for the job was Phil Jackson but many reports said Jackson did not want the job.  A new ESPN report says Jackson indeed wanted the job but he wasn’t wanted by owner James Dolan.  Read more after the jump. Sabrina B.  The New York Knicks are in the final stages of contract negotiations with Mike Woodson and are expected to make him their coach in the coming days, a source with knowledge of the negotiations told ESPNNewYork.com.


NBA Rumor: Knicks Will Make Woodson the Permanent Head Coach & Not Contact Phil Jackson

Sometime soon (possibly this week), the Knicks are expected to remove Mike Woodson’s interim title and make him the permanent head coach.  They will do so without making a single bid for the shiniest object on the market: Phil Jackson, with his 11 sparkly championship rings.  Read more after the jump. NBA: Knicks Coach Woodson Urges Fans Not to Boo Amare Stoudemire When He Starts Today
