IFWT Remembers Eazy-E On The 20th Anniversary Of His Passing

Believe it or not, it’s been a whopping 20 years since “Miss Sleazy set up Eazy to die,” and we lost one of the most influential hip-hop artists in the game, Eazy-E. Of course he lives on through his music and his children, and his legacy will be honored in the forthcoming NWA biopic when it hits theaters this summer. Rest in peace, Eazy-E. We miss you!

(Photos) Dr. Dre Celebrates N.W.A. Biopic Wrap With Party At His L.A. Mansion

The N.W.A. biopic has officially wrapped, and Dr. Dre celebrated this weekend with a huge bash at his California crib. Of course all of the film’s actors were there, and also spotted in the photos thus far were the late Eazy-E‘s family, Xzhibit and DJ Mustard. (That doesn’t mean other big names weren’t there, I just haven’t come across those photos yet.) Straight Outta Compton hits theaters August 2015. Check out more pics from the party below.

Thug Life: Shots Fired From Drive-By Right Outside Of N.W.A. Biopic Filming!

The filming for N.W.A.’s upcoming biopic has already kicked off in South Central, Los Angeles (it’s only right.) As the crew was filming inside of the Compton Courthouse, shots rang out outside of the location and according to eyewitnesses, it was the REAL deal (NOT actors.) Although the police do not believe the shooters were targeting the filming crew, a nearby civilian did get hit by the gunfire and collapsed. Luckily, the victim survived. The filming will resume this week in yet another rough area of Compton although members of the crew are worried for their safety. The shooting is still under investigation by the L.A.P.D.

Controversial, Leaked N. W. A. Casting Call Gains Criticism, Agency Releases Statement

As the N.W.A bio pic production comes into full swing, a recently released casting call through Sande Alessi Casting has raised eyebrows after displaying negative racist requests, for the upcoming roles in the film. The agency is admitting that the call was an ‘innocent mistake’ and have confirmed that they are looking into the casting of various skin types for the ‘poor’ characters in the film to which was open solely to ‘African American Girls’ who were ‘out of shape’ with ‘medium to dark skin tone’. Check out the full casting call here and let us know your thoughts!

Ouch! Eazy-E’s Son Gets Denied Playing The Role Of His Father In N.W.A. Movie

There’s a lot of hard feelings in the air after Ice Cube picked a no-name to play Eazy-E in the N.W.A. movie over his own flesh and blood. Lil Eazy-E is NOT a happy camper. Ice Cube chose to cast his own son, O’Shea Jackson Jr., to play him in the flick and picked a completely random to fill Eazy’s role. Dr. Dre’s own son didn’t get casted either. However, Lil Eazy is still going to help support and promote the film in honor of his late father who passed in 1995. Do you think he should have gotten the role of his famous rapper father?
