NBA: No More Free Throws? New Possible Rule Changes Could Eventually Lead To It

The NBA wants to speed up the pace of it’s game and it is exploring ways to do so. One of these proposals is to slightly do away with free throws, which would reduce the amount of time a game takes overall. Every trip to the foul line could be for only one free throw from now on, regardless of reason. The fouled shooter would take one foul shot, worth two points. This rule, if instituted, would shave an estimated five minutes off of game time. New commissioner Adam Silver has been looking to make his own mark on the league so do not be surprised if this change becomes reality.

Some Fans Will Not Like This New NFL Rule…Especially The Ladies!

I read about this yesterday and have to say my first reaction was — “This is some bullsh*t” — BUT I understand why they’re doing it.  The NFL revised its policies for what fans can bring into stadiums…sorry ladies – NO more purses!  And sorry fellas – No cushions, camera bags & more.  I have a hard time with this because I’m one of those that carry everything in my purse – you know…just in case. Lol. Even when I go to NFL games, I’ve always had to bring a purse.  The NFL does have a solution for people like me (kinda). Report after the jump…

NBA: Derrick Rose Honored with ‘Derrick Rose Rule’ in Proposed Collective Bargaining Agreement

Posted by Sabrina B. @gametimegirl Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose was surprised there’s a provision in the NBA’s pending new CBA that’s being called “The Derrick Rose Rule” and rewards players of his caliber. The rule allows a player finishing his rookie contract to make 30 percent of a team’s salary cap — up from 25 percent — if he’s twice been voted an All-Star starter, twice been voted All-NBA or won an MVP award. Rose, 23, is the reigning MVP.

Patriots Coach Bill Belichick Says The NFL Wants to Eliminate Kickoffs

Posted by Sabrina B. @gametimegirl Without question, the rule moving the kickoff point from the 30 to the 35 has generated more discussion and debate than any other rule.  It’s arguably caused more reaction and analysis than most other rules changes, combined.  Patriots coach Bill Belichick said Tuesday that the league wants to eliminate the kickoff.  And that’s not an expression of opinion.  Belichick says that the league told him this.
