What else are guys in their early 20’s supposed to do after just being drafted into the NFL? You know they have to celebrate that. On the biggest night of their lives, Johnny Manziel, Mike Evans, Odell Beckham, Jr & other draftees hit the city with Drake to enjoy their new found stardom. Hopefully Beckham, who was drafted by the Giants ( Go Gmen ) and is only 20 years old, passed on the liquor. Hit the jump.
Did a homeless man really determine the fate of Johnny football? If you let owner Jimmy Haslem tell it, the answer is yes. Haslem said despite his worth and owning the Browns, when he is in his home state of Tennessee nobody recognizes him or stops him to talk. But in Cleveland on the eve of the draft someone on the street realized who Haslem was and had a message for him. He said the homeless man was on the street and looked up at Haslem and said two words, “draft Johnny”. According to Haslem that was a sign that the team needed to make sure that was the direction they went. Hit the jump.
After all the waiting and wondering who would be the first pick of the NFL Draft, it would up being the guy everyone thought it would be. The Houston Texans selected Jadeveon Clowney with the overall top pick. With tears coming down his face he hugged his family and walked up to meet commissioner Roger Goodell. Greg Robinson, Blake Bortles, Sammy Watkins & Khalil Mack rounded out the top 5 picks. Johnny Manziel had to wait quite a bit longer to hear his name. Hit the jump.
It’s widely believed that most college athletes (well the really good ones) don’t actually go to class and don’t really do the work that others do to get their degree. With the NFL Draft tonight in NYC, TMZ Sports caught up with projected high prospect Jadeveon Clowney and asked him “What was your hardest class in college?” The response was laughter, which is exactly what they rest of us are doing at that question.
