As news spreads that the beloved James Avery, who played Uncle Phil on The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, has passed…his co-stars and friends have been speaking out to express their condolences. Just last week, the Fresh Prince family lost the show’s producer Jeffrey Pollack, so this unfortunately just adds to their grief. Rest in peace to the late, great Guru. Today marks three years since the legendary emcee passed. For you youngins, Guru was a part of Gang Starr, which consisted of himself and DJ Premier. The duo are a staple in hip-hop culture, having put out volumes of music from the late 80′s to early 2000′s that still bang to this day. Check out their videos in the gallery.
Singer Of The Classic R&B Group, The Spinners Has Passed
One of the original members of the group, The Spinners had passed away this past weekend. Bobbie Smith, 76 died from complications from pneumonia and influenza. Smith also, was diagnosed with cancer back in November. The group had many hits, but one of my faves would be, “Working My Way Back To You Girl“. Drop down bottom and check it out. R.I.P. Today makes two years since Nate Dogg has passed away from complications of multiple strokes and he is for sure missed. Nate Dogg always added that rap/sing style in all songs with Warren G and other artists. I loved the cameo he did in “Head of State” with Chris Rock. Classic man. 13+ years ago, Harlem rapper Big L was gunned down in a drive by shooting at his home and has been strongly missed since. One of the best MCs to ever do it is being celebrated by artist all around today. Having dealt with more then a few DJs and other rappers such as Jay-z, L is known to have influenced the game with a style and technique that some still try to incorporate to this day. R.I.P. Big L. The Guy Who Played Phillip Drummond On “Diff’rent Strokes” Has Passed Away
I really did love “Different Strokes”. Sad to say that the father of the show Conrad Bain has passed away. Tood Bridges who played Willis in going through it stating, “I’m deeply saddened by the sudden passing on Conrad as we were looking forward to celebrating his 90th birthday next month.” #Sad. R.I.P.
