The San Antonio Spurs usually aren’t very active when it comes to trades and have built a pretty solid team over the years.  This year however as their mainstays get up in age, the team has to make some changes one which could include adding young guard Evan Turner.


NBA: Thaddeus Young Denies Asking for Trade Request

There was a report claiming Thaddeus Young’s agent, Jim Tanner, formally spoke to Philadelphia 76ers general manager Sam Hinkie weeks ago and requested a trade for his client. Young says that’s not true.

Of course Philadelphia 76ers fans weren’t very fond of Andrew Bynum after he sat out the entire 2012-13 season with knee injuries and still collected $17 million.  Bynum signed a two-year deal with the Cavaliers during the offseason and as the Cavs were hosted by the Sixers on Friday night, fans were finally able to express their displeasure.  Bynum however wasn’t impressed with their effort.

Evan Turner, has not been able to find his niche in the NBA during his first three years in the NBA and to no surprise new general manager Sam Hinkie did not offer him an extension. Turner realizes 2013-14 could be his last season with the Philadelphia 76ers.


NBA: 76ers Head Coach Explains Why Royce White Didn’t Fly With the Team to Spain

Royce White’s anxiety disorder has been the center of attention since he was drafted 16th overall by the Houston Rockets in 2012.  Fast forward and White still hasn’t played in an NBA game due to his disorder preventing him from flying and various discrepancies with the Rockets organization.  They eventually traded him to the Philadelphia 76ers and things seemed to look up as White said he would travel with the team including a trip to Spain.  Well White didn’t make the voyage and Sixers head coach Brett Brown has an explanation.  Read more after the jump.

Like several other teams the Philadelphia 76ers held their media day yesterday but theirs was noticeably more lowkey.  The Sixers are clearly in rebuilding mode or as some like to call it “tanking”.  The team still has to be covered however and as one media outlet set to interview Evan Turner, he brought some life to the dreary day.  Read more after the jump.
