(Video) NBA: Shaq Weighs In On Which Number Should Be Retired For Kobe Bryant

There are some folks out there, including myself, that believe the Lakers should retire both numbers Kobe Bryant wore during his career. He accomplished many things wearing his original #8 jersey but he also enhanced his hall of fame resume while wearing #24. He won three rings with his old number but won two more, plus an MVP award wearing his father’s old number of 24. Shaq was alongside Kobe during the “8” days and he does not believe both numbers should be retired, he thinks only his original jersey should be retired.

The two were once close friends and teammates then things got rough.  They’ve since made up and now Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal are bosom buddies again.  Shaq ever the jokester posted a message to Kobe on his retirement then posted a video of the two of them doing the “retirement dance”.

(Video) NBA: How Did Shaq Wind Up Doing “Inside The NBA” With No Pants On?

Shaq is a pretty funny dude but last night the joke was on him. The crew of “Inside The NBA” decided to have fun with him, at the expense of his pants. Those same pants wound up in a garbage can outside the studio before they exploded and the Diesel was forced to do the show in his blazer and boxers. He eventually threw on some pajama pants.

Shaq just made a bet along with a guarantee that will likely come back to haunt him. The Diesel is a big Dallas Cowboys fan and while on Rich Eisen Show, Shaq revealed he already has one bet going on involving the Cowboys. He then decided to go for more by guaranteeing Eisen that the Cowboys will make the playoffs despite their gruesome 2-5 record. He said if the Cowboys do not make it, he will show up in full Cowboys cheerleaders gear, which won’t be a pretty sight.

NBA: Shaq Tells Kobe To Keep Playing After 2015-16 Season

Shaq actually has something good to say about Kobe. A shock right? That may be a stretch because since Shaq has left the league and took up broadcasting on TNT and NBATV, he pretty much has good things to say about the Black Mamba–unless the discussion is surrounding the old days of the duo. However, in a recent interview, Shaq, like the rest of us, says Kobe should continue playing after his final contract year with the Lakers.

Kobe Bryant went on Shaquille O’Neal’s podcast and discussed their old feud.  Both men admitted regret letting their egos get in the way and acting immaturely at the time, breaking up a dynasty with the Lakers that had already won three titles.  But how many could they have won if they had checked their egos at the door?  Well Shaq has to the answer to that.
