Jorge Andres, who is an anchor on Sportscenter is slowly trying to take his foot out of his mouth today. During a airing of the show, he was going over highlights of the Rockets/Knicks game from last night. At one point he referred to Jeremy Lin as “Cooking with hot peanut oil”. Peanut oil for those who do not get the reference, is used heavily in Asian style cooking. In my personal opinion the attempt at humor was not that serious, but that is because I am more relaxed when it comes to racial type jokes. On the other hand, I do see how some people could take offense. Later in the same broadcast his bosses must of realized what he said and he came back to the topic and apologized about it.
