Pharrell Buys Back Ownership Of BBC & Ice Cream

After creating streetwear/skating brand Billionaire Boys Club (BBC) with BAPE founder Nigo in 2005, Pharrell went on to create another brand Ice Cream (initially for sneakers at first) shortly afterward. Years later, however, he sold a majority of his ownership to Iconix Brands Group Inc. In the midst of the latter’s financial crisis, however, the Neptunes producer has now repurchased a 50% stake in both brands.


Beyonce Is Launching A Clothing Line In 2016

According to reports, Beyoncé will be launching a clothing line that will be streetwear-based, with Topshop owner Sir Philip Green in 2016. (By the way – does House of Deréon still exist or nah?) “We are developing our distribution globally for the launch of this exciting new brand in spring 2016,” a statement from Green’s Arcadia Group read. The brand will be available in 20 countries worldwide. A streetwear line from the Queen Bey? I think I’m here for it! Would you guys cop?

The Underground bomber features an all-over print of the 30 best underground hip-hop albums selected by Pigeons & Planes, including the likes of Aesop Rock, Atmosphere, Cannibal Ox, Company Flow, Madvillain and more. To highlight the jacket, Kinship has partnered with directors Prime Cut for a new interview series called “Off Top.” The first episode features Mass Appeal rapper Dave East, rocking the Underground bomber and discussing the first underground album he shouldn’t have owned, his relationship with Nas, being left off this year’s XXL Freshman cover and more. New skater brand The Psych Ward officially celebrated the grand opening of its flagship store on Fairfax Avenue in L.A. late last week with a star-studded, red carpet experience. Celebrities in attendance included Nick Cannon, Amber Rose, skater Stevie Williams, A-Town, Malik Yoba (Empire), Masika Kalysha, Jessica White Gloria Govan and more. Upon entry, guests were given a prescription for candy coated “Meds” or special syringe-filled “Shots” by sexy nurses while DJ Carisma and Nick Cannon were on the 1’s and 2’s. The “psychiatric” themed experience was complimented by medical scrubs attire worn by the staff and “psych ward” décor throughout the venue, with the brand’s exclusive new apparel on display.
