Rumors circulated that Kanye West postponed a lot of his Yeezus tour (and ultimately ended up cancelling a handful of dates) due to lack of ticket sales, and not the reported damage in equipment. A new report now only speaks to that, showing that Yeezy only filled 4,500 of the over 19,000 seats in the Kansas City Sprint Center earlier this week. Yikes! “Tuesday’s poor attendance indicates how his scandalous love life, frequent impolite pronouncements and his gradual shift away from conventional hip-hop have alienated many of his fans,” the Kansas City Star reported. NY & DC “Rock The Bells” Dates CANCELLED…Here’s Why!
This really saddens me. Not only is Rock The Bells an awesome experience of true hip-hop, but this year was the 10th anniversary, and it included the holograms of both Eazy-E and ODB. How could the ticket sales be so poor, especially in hip-hop’s birth place?! Unfortunately such is the case, and the folks behind RTB were forced to cancel not only the NY dates but the Washington D.C. dates as well. Below is a statement from Guerilla Union founder/owner Chang Weisberg regarding the cancellation. Hopefully next year is better.
Great News For Britney Spears!
Tickets have gone on sale for the first 16 of Britney’s upcoming Las Vegas concerts…and word is, the sales are through the roof! According to her team, “it’s the best-selling show in the history of Vegas.” Out of 73,600 tickets available for the 16 shows, 70,242 have already been sold…and the ones left are all nosebleed! (Aka, all the most expensive ones have been purchased already!) They’re even in talks to add more shows if ticket sales keep up like this. Congrats, Brit!
Ouch, This May Hurt Kanye West’s Feelings!
If Kanye wasn’t feeling Justin before (RE: “I got love for Hov, but I ain’t f*ckin’ with that ‘Suit & Tie.’”)…he’s really going to be feeling some type of way now! Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake are headed on tour this summer, and the ticket sales are so good already, they’re outselling Jay & Kanye’s 2011 “Watch The Throne” tour by a whopping 5 to 1! The web traffic to StubHub for their tour is also 3x that of the traffic for WTT. Damn, homie!
