SummerStage is an annual free concert series in NYC, held throughout 14 parks in the five boroughs between June and August. My FAVE Ty Dolla $ign will be kicking it off this year on June 3 at Red Hook Park in Brooklyn, just two days after he hits that Summer Jam stage! Other acts confirmed for the summer are Ana Tijoux (July 9), Sisqó (June 11), Cibo Matto (July 13), Mobb Deep (July 17) and Joe (Aug. 12). SummerStage will also feature big names in a series of benefit concerts, though these will NOT be free. They include Counting Crows (June 30), Beck (July 1), Neon Trees (July 7), Conor Oberst (July 29) and Fania All Stars (Aug. 24). Get the full lineup here.

During the interview, the West coast rapper spoke on turning the Pu$haz Ink imprint he started with DJ Mustard and Ty Dolla $ign into an official label, as well as his album inspiration and more. It might as well be official at this point – Khloe Kardashian and French Montana are a thing! Though neither has come out to confirm their dating status, the reality star and the rapper have made it quite obvious through their recent outings together. On Thursday morning, the pair were spotted catching a flight out of LAX together, and as I suspected, Khloe accompanied French to his show later that night in Washington D.C. with Ty Dolla $ign. (I was also there – Koko is a sweetheart!) The next day, Khloe accompanied French to his club hosting at Allstar in Elizabeth, NJ with DJ Bobby Trends (video below)…and like the boss chick that she is…whipped French’s Rolls Royce through the streets! We then headed to NYC and linked up with Chinx at Club W.i.P., who was there celebrating Cipha Sounds’ birthday. We were there for maybe all of 20 minutes though, when cops shut the whole thing down early! According to a new report, the often-troubled club may be closed for quite some time, along with its sister club, Greenhouse. The issue was apparently too many customers and blasting music above the legal limit, and a day later, a sign outside the club claimed it was closed for renovations, with no indication of when the doors would reopen. Sources say both clubs share the same liquor license, and they may be gone for good because it expires at the end of the month and owners have not…

Late Sunday night into Monday morning, Brooklyn’s own Fabolous was locked in the lab with up-and-coming West coast crooner, Ty Dolla $ign. “Started my career 13 yrs ago with a song called “Can’t Deny It” which featured one of the hottest on the West Coast, Nate Dogg,” Fab wrote on social media. “Now here I am again working wit one of the hottest on the West again. Me & @tydollasign been in the studio making some good music,. Y’all gon get this work!! In my best Loaded Lux voice… And we work til the sun comes up..” Of course, he capped it off with a ton of hilarious hashtags in true Fabolous fashion. I’m excited to hear what these two come up with, especially with the way Fab prefaced the collab. From what I’m told by my little insiders, this track is going to belong to Ty, and may end up on his debut album Free TC, due out later this year on Atlantic Records. However, Loso later posted a photo in the studio with Mariah Carey, so he may be working on a project of his own where this song could live. Either way, I wouldn’t be surprised if our very own Funk Flex makes a movie out of this premiere…and with Ty on the Summer Jam bill, who knows if we may get to see this one live come June 1st! (Video) Ty Dolla $ign Brings Out Travi$ Scott For “Familiar” In Philly
On Saturday night, Ty Dolla $ign, Travi$ Scott and New Jersey up-and-comer Topaz Jones all hit the stage in Philly at the University of Pennsylvania. With Trav and Ty finally being on the same bill, the pair performed their collab “Familiar” together for the first time, a cut off Ty’s debut EP, Beach House. The track also features Chi-Town rapper Fredo Santana, who Ty performed the song with last month when he made his way to the Windy City. Since Ty and Trav are both the homies, I took the trip down to Philly, and figured while I was there, might as well record the performance for IFWT! Check out the footage below.
