The overly excited crook pilfered the big rig and smashed through the front of AdultMart on Cooper Foster Park Road in Brownhelm Township, Ohio, around 2:30 a.m. Monday, WOIO 19 News reported.
Once inside, the man grabbed only a single item – an $800 sex toy described by police as a life-like masturbator with female genitalia, legs and buttocks.
The thief, a caught on a surveillance video wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, then backed out of the store and drove off, the Morning Journal reported.
Police pursued the criminal, but when they caught up to the truck, he stopped it, jumped out, took off on foot near some railroad tracks and escaped, authorities said.
“The guy bailed out of the tractor and took off,” Sheriff’s Capt. Jim Drozdowski told The Chronicle-Telegram. “They didn’t catch him.”
Officers also failed to find the sex toy.
The AdultMart had been robbed in a similar fashion two years ago.
In 2009, a crook drove a car through the shop’s front window and grabbed a similar yet cheaper sex toy, WOIO 19 News reported. Police do not believe the crimes are related.
